5,000-in-5 Campaign
| The mission of the Raven Maria Blanco Foundation (RMBF) is to increase the awareness of medical emergency preparedness in dental offices. We are achieving this in part through our “5,000 in 5” Program where Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are donated to worthy, in-need dental clinics that treat underserved/uninsured populations. RMBF seeks to donate 5,000 AEDs within the next 5 years – our hope is sooner rather than later. The RMBF website will have an “AED Wall of Fame” section detailing the facilities that have received an AED award as well as the names of those who purchased the AED on their behalf (dentist, physician, business, etc).
RMBF is reaching out to all State Dental Associations in seeking dental clinic nominees that fit our desired criteria. We are accepting prospect submissions and are asking each State Dental Association to provide us 100 with names each. We enthusiastically encourage every State Dental Association to partner with RMBF on this important mission. Additionally, we are looking for dentists or dental vendors willing to purchase an AED for a specific clinic. In doing so, their name will be placed on a plaque, which will be given to the clinic of their choice and in their honor. |

We need 5,000 dentists to step up and make a difference by giving the gift of safety to these deeply deserving recipients. Participating dentists may also opt to extend their gratitude and generosity by purchasing additional AED units for community organizations such as schools, ballparks or other local facilities. When an emergency occurs, AEDs save lives. Together, we have the opportunity to protect the future of our communities and our children. An AED donation is a promise of compassionate action; we are telling our neighbors that their lives are valuable and that we are prepared to honor that truth if and when the need arises. Our 5 year plan can be accomplished in 2011 if the support we expect and believe in rises to meet this challenge. |
